Hazardous Waste Charaterization

Under EPA’s Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), a solid waste is said to be “hazardous” if it exhibits any characteristic of hazardous waste including ignitability, corrosivity, reactivity or toxicity. Chemtech-Ford has been analyzing for hazardous waste determinations longer than any other lab in the intermountain region.

TCLP and SPLP

The Toxicity Characterization Leaching Procedure (TCLP) and the Synthetic Precipitation Leaching Procedure (SPLP) are specifically designed to determine the mobility of organic and inorganic analytes present in various types of waste. The leaching process simulates the conditions present in a landfill as liquids percolate through the solid waste.
